Please continue to watch my other auctions for more outstanding items to come! Up today is a magnificent wwii us army air force officer's crusher visor cap. This is a true crusher, you can roll it up and stuff it in your pocket! The cap was manufactured by knox, one of the finest makers during the war. This is a great cap! The cap has a khaki top in excellent shape (couple scattered moth nips, though they are minor). Encircling the cap is a wonderful mohair band. The visor, chinstrap, and cavalry-style backstrap are supple and in superb condition (the visor does show some minor crazing).
The screwback brass eagle on the front of the cap is marked gemsco, acid test on the reverse. The cap was manufactured by knox of new york. The cap has a fully attached and supple leathre sweatband. hTe inner liner has not carmelized, unlike most wwii caps. It is marked as a medium size 7 1/8. Additionally, teh cap is named inside to lieutenant norman g. Rietman of the u. S. Army iar corps. This is an excellent cap in fantastic condition! What a wonderful addition this cap would make to any collection!
